Features


1. Do you perform application customization?
Yes, however, in terms of the length and size of the customization process, it is paid accordingly.

2 Can you handle any special requests?
Yes, Malloc Inc. is always ready to discuss all special requests and come with an appropriate solution.

3. How much time does the customization process usually take?
That depends on the scale of the customization. Minor customizations are performed within a day. In case of a complete application overhaul, it can take up to three months.

4. Is the application navigation user-friendly?
Navigation in our products is designed in a way that both users and instructors can easily navigate in them.

5. Does the test generator provide feedback to candidates?
Yes, instructors can add feedback that is displayed to a user once he/she receive the report.

6. Can the tests be time-limited?
Yes. Tests can be timed in several ways. You can adjust the time to take the entire test and you can adjust the time per question.

7. Can the test generator provide test analytics to instructors?
Yes. Instructors have insights in test analytics.

8. Can the test generator provide data to students?
Students can only see the personal data. The instructor can predefine what kind of data will be shown to the student and when - available after each answered question when a student finishes the test or sent when necessary.

9. Can the system organize questions into categories?
Yes. Each question can be loaded into its relevant category called a question pool.

10. Is it possible for instructors to update/change live test questions as certification exam changes?
Test questions can only be updated/changed only if the test has been created but not sent. If a test has been sent, the questions cannot be changed/updated.

11. Can the instructors use the same questions across multiple tests?
Yes. Same questions can be loaded in multiple tests by using the test generator.

12. Are multiple formats of questions available?
Yes, there are 7 types of questions in Classroom2020:

  1. single choice
  2. multiple choice
  3. matching
  4. ordering
  5. true or false
  6. fill in the blanks
  7. essay

GetCertified has 8 question types. All question types that Classroom2020 has, plus an open question type.

13. Can the system automatically grade tests?
Out of 7 different question types, Classroom2020 can automatically grade all question types except fill in the blanks and essay question type. GetCertified can automatically grade 6 out of 8 question types. It cannot automatically grade fill in the blanks and essay question type.

14. Is test scheduling available?
Yes. Tests can be created and scheduled at any time in the future. Users cannot access the test before the scheduled date and time.

15. Can the tests be assigned to students by instructors?
Yes, tests can be assigned to students by instructors.

16. Is it possible to modify access to different instructors?
Yes, it is possible to permit access to different instructors based on profile role permissions and even by utilizing course/pool rank (rank defines individual course/pool access).

17. Can the questions be batch imported into test engine?
Yes, questions can be batch imported into test engine via our Excel.

18. Is it possible for question order to be randomized?
Yes, questions can be shown in random order and with large enough pool of questions, each student can have a different set of questions.

19. Is it possible to group users?
Yes, users can be organized into groups. It is even possible to create sub-groups to groups, segmenting into as many levels as necessary.

20. Can the questions be defined by difficulty?
Yes, you can predefine the difficulty to each question inside a test, and a different number of points according to the level of question difficulty.

21. Is API integration supported?
Depending on the API, it might be possible. Please contact us for more information.

22. Does YouTestMe software support tests for Permits to Work (PTW) System Evaluation?
Yes. It can be adjusted to support all types of standards.

23. Is there a limit to the number of administrators?
There is no limit in a number of administrators.

24. Is it possible to shuffle answer option order?
Both answer and question order can be shuffled.

25. Is there a limit to the number of candidates involved in test taking?
There is no limit in terms of a number of users. Although a number of users is unlimited in extreme scenarios when you have hundreds of users using the YouTestMe application at the same time a reasonable slowdown may occur. Our Standard version runs on servers with up to two physical processors and based on our benchmarks that is adequate for few hundred concurrent users.

We also have an Enterprise version of the application which can be scaled for a larger number of users (practically unlimited) and faster performances.

26. Is it possible to set a different number of attempts to take the test?
The system can be modified to meet this requirement.

27. Are the results available to candidates immediately?
Yes, it is possible to provide results to candidates immediately. It is also possible to provide them upon confirmation.

28. Is there any way to clear all test sessions and deploy a test from scratch with new participants?
Yes. With the help of test generator, person responsible for creating tests can predefine the test settings once and save them as test template. This saves time when similar tests need to be created with new participants.

29. Is there ability to lock test so other users cannot access them?
There are two ways how you can limit access to tests in the YouTestMe application:

  1. by specifying which users have access to specific tests
  2. by specifying a range of IP addresses from where the application can be accessed


30. Can YouTestMe products exchange data with other systems?
YouTestMe offers the following options for data exchange:

  1. export of data in CSV and Excel format (provided by default)
  2. export of data as Oracle export or data pump files (provided by default)
  3. export of data in custom format as per client’s specification
  4. custom API as per client’s specification
  5. we offer assistance and custom development for data import into one or multiple target platforms


31. Are question pools populated with questions or users can create their own questions?
YouTestMe products allow users to add questions into question pools. There are 8 question types in GetCertified and 7 question types in Classroom2020.

Another way of adding questions is by uploading an Excel template with questions in it.

YouTestMe also helps users to load questions into the system, whether they come in digital or paper form.

32. Is it possible to edit the test once it is created?
As long as the created test is not scheduled, you are able to change all its settings (questions, duration, pass mark, etc.).

if the test is created and scheduled, you can edit only the following settings:

  1. Test Name
  2. Network Access
  3. Report Contents
  4. Pass Mark


33. Is it possible to assign test to the specific group of users?
Yes, once the test is created, you can choose the users within specific groups that you will assign to take the test.

Architecture and Deployment


1. How do I get and install the application?
There are two ways to install the application:

  1. The application comes in a virtual machine package. To install the application, you will need either Virtual Box or Work Station to put the virtual machine in. Consult our implementation guide for step by step procedure.
  2. Host the application in the Malloc Data Centre, in which case no installation is necessary, however, it would be necessary to pay for hosting services this way.


2. Which platforms are supported?
Since it is a web-based application, it can be accessed by anything with a web browser (optimized for mobile platforms as well). An Android application exists as well, and an iOS version is in the development process.

3. Do you provide training?
Yes, we provide several types of training – personal administrators, telephone/Skype sessions, or presentations. These services are paid separately. It is important to mention that every client gets the proper documentation and video tutorials for starters.

4. What kind of training and support do you provide?
We provide three levels of support – Basic, Advanced and Premium. Basic support is free and includes:

  • Technical support via email with a response time of up to 24 hours on workdays
  • Bug fixes
  • Free previews of new application upgrades
  • Free application upgrades
  • Assistance with the installation of application upgrades

Advanced support also includes the video chat and customizable grading systems. The premium level of support also includes the telephone call support and one or more personal administrators.

An extra service also includes the entering and management of data in the purchased product.

We provide several types of training – personal administrators, telephone/Skype sessions, or presentations. These services are paid separately. It is important to mention that every client gets the proper documentation and video tutorials for starters.

5. What is the difference between Monthly Plans and Software Purchase?
The difference is primarily where the application is hosted. With Monthly Plans, the application is hosted on YouTestMe servers and in that case, you are renting the application. As about Software Purchase, you become the owner of application and you decide whether you will host the application on our cloud servers or on your on-premises. Please note that if you decide to host the purchased application (GetCertified or Classroom2020) on our cloud server, you pay the monthly cloud hosting fee, starting from US$99/month. You are eligible to migrate the application at any time, free of charge.

6. I have purchased Monthly Plan package, how do I access the application?
Once you purchase desired Monthly Plan package and payment is being confirmed, we will set-up the application and provide you with your login credentials.

7. Do I become the owner of software if I go with Monthly Plan package?
If you decide to go with Monthly Plan package, you are actually renting the software, but you are in a full control over the data.

8. If I am using Monthly Plan package, can I redeem the software?
Yes. You can redeem the software at any time you want.

9. What is the price for redeeming the software?
The price for redeeming the software is calculated by the following formula:

Software Redeem Price = Deployment Price - (Cloud Package Price - Number of Months)

I.e. You are using Standard Cloud Package of GetCertified for 6 months, and you have decided to redeem the software. The redeem price is: Redeem Price = US$6,900 - (US$399/month x 6 months) = US$6,900 - US$2,394 = US$4,506

10. I have purchased Software Purchase version of application, what next?
Once your payment is being confirmed and the payment is being confirmed, we will start Product Receiving Process. Alongside with the application, we will provide you with all necessary documentation.

11. What is the difference between hosting GetCertified "starting from US$99/month" and Monthly Plan packages?
The price 'starting from US$99/month' is charged in a case that you have purchased the Software Purchase version of the application and you don't have where to host it.

12. What types of software purchase models do you offer?
We offer two types of software purchase models:

  1. On Cloud - you purchase the software that can be hosted on your cloud server or on our cloud server.
  2. On Premises - you purchase the software that can be hosted on your local server.

The price is the same for both Cloud and On Premises.

Please note that if you decide to host the purchased application (GetCertified or Classroom2020) on our cloud server, you pay the monthly cloud hosting fee, starting from US$99/month. You are eligible to migrate the application at any time, free of charge.

18. Can the application be used in different locations?
Each location would require one YouTestMe software copy and license, if they are not on the same network. This means that if all of your users can access the same web server, then you would need only one license. If some of your users cannot access that web server, then you would need to install another server on their location/network, which means another license.

  • Technical support via email with a response time of up to 24 hours on workdays
  • Bug fixes
  • Free previews of new application upgrades
  • Free application upgrades
  • Assistance with the installation of application upgrades



9. Is there an annual fee for updates?
Our pricing model is a one-time fee which means that you pay the application once and during the first year of free support you get all future updates for free. Also, by purchasing our application you get one year of free support. Free support includes all client documentation, video tutorials, support over email with a response time of 4 business hours. After the first year, optionally, you can extend the support for US$900 per year. If you extend the support you will continue receiving software upgrades at no additional costs.
