Testing Locations

Creating a testing location helps you in scheduling tests based on locations and geographical reports. You can select time zones for the location, and assign proctors to it.

During creating a testing session, you can choose that location, and all its settings will be automatically applied to the testing session:

- The proctors assigned to the location automatically become the proctors of that testing session.

- The time zone automatically becomes the session time zone, helping you not have to manually calculate the test time for each location in relation to your time zone.

This feature is optional, and you are not required to use it or specify it in testing sessions.

1. Accessing the page

   You can access "Testing locations" from the home page. Hover over "Tests" in the main menu and choose "Testing locations".

   
2. Page layout

   On this page, you can:

   1. Preview a list of all locations in the system (created by you or other users).
   2. Preview a list of locations you created.
   3. Preview a list of locations with you are assigned to as a proctor.
   4. Create a new testing location by clicking the "Create new" button.
   5. Edit the existing testing location by clicking the pencil icon in the Actions column.
   6. Delete the existing testing location by clicking the trash can icon in the Actions column.
   7. Download a list of testing locations by clicking the "Export as Excel" or "Export as PDF" button.
   
3. Creating a new testing location

   After clicking the "Create new" button, you should fill in the following fields in a pop-up window to create a new testing location:

   1. "Name" - enter the name of the testing location.
   2. "Time zone" - choose a time zone for the testing location.
   3. "Description" - enter the description to give more information about the testing location.
   4. "Assign proctors" - assign the existing users as proctors for this location.
   5. "Remove selected" - select the users you want to remove as proctors and click the "Remove selected" button.
   6. "Create" - click the "Create" button to save the new testing location.
   7. "Cancel" - click the "Cancel" button to discard the testing location you were creating
   
4. Editing the testing location

   After clicking the "Edit" button in the Actions column, a pop-up window for editing the location will appear. The pop-up window contains the same fields as the one for creating a new testing session. For more information, please visit Creating a new testing location.

   Edit the desired fields or change the list of assigned proctors and click the "Save" button to save your updates.


5. Assigning proctors to a testing location

   To assign proctors to a testing location, click the "Assign proctors" button while creating or editing a location.

   

   A pop-up window will appear, where you should:

   1. Select the users you want to assign as proctors.
   2. Click the "Confirm" button.
   

When a created location is assigned to a testing session, the proctors for that location will automatically become the session proctors as well.
